A graduate of Indiana University, the Seattle Culinary Academy, and a proud attendee of the Quillisascut Farm School of the Domestic Arts, Chef Kristen Schumacher (Chef Schu) feels fortunate to live and work in the Pacific Northwest, where she is surrounded by such abundance and inspiration for the food she cooks.
As a cookbook contributor, caterer, and cooking instructor, she has been active in many facets of cooking through the years. One of Chef Schu’s passions is being a sustainable food advocate and volunteer. She offers her time and expertise to various Seattle organizations to help promote and educate people about the local food economy and sustainable kitchen practices.
Always busy, she has recently served as a personal chef for local celebrities, a cooking instructor and in-house chef’ at The Pantry in Ballard Washington, as well as a guest instructor at a number of different cooking schools in the area. She also continues to cater for private events all over Seattle and beyond.
When she's not in the kitchen, you will find Kristen spending time with her two adorable girls, Ryanne and Finley, and close friends. She loves exploring the outdoors in any season...skiing, creating art, pouring over creative food blogs and cookbooks, tinkering in the kitchen, and drinking very good tequila.
Rhodies is home to the famous Trailboss pork sandwich. The family-owned and operated restaurant entered the Bite of Seattle in 2006 and 2007 and was voted Seattle's best BBQ and best show booth both years.
This BBQ has wowed many of our Corporate Events and is the perfect hearty meal to end and epic adventure. Catering to groups of all sizes this option is great for a buffet-style spread.
Welcome to Snoqualmie’s pride “Caadxi Oaxaca”.
We are a family Mexican restaurant with the willing heart to share our family recipes and authentic Oaxacan food. “Caadxi Oaxaca” (Cod-See Wah-Ha-Ka) translates to “a little bit of Oaxaca” in the Zapotec language, spoken by the indigenous Zapoteca people of the Southern Mexican state of Oaxaca.
Each flavor tells a story, with our special homemade seasoning and fresh ingredients, you will experience a delightful symphony that will indulge your palate every time.
We hope you enjoy our little bit of Oaxaca here in Snoqualmie. Remember we cater to groups of all sizes and this option is great for a buffet-style spread.
